ReNew Skin Care, what it is and how it came about!

Welcome all, today I want to talk about some of the things I make, namely my signature product line, ReNew Skin Care.

This line started out about 11 years back when a good friend, a holistic esthetician, wanted to start adding essential oils to the food based things she made for her clients. We started researching what essentials did for the skin, how to add then into products and how much was safe to use.  After about a year we started looking at making products to use and sell.  As the things the esthetician makes have to be used right then (she literally takes fruits, veggies , herbs and now the oils and mixes up the things to use on your skin) we wanted something with a long shelf life and something everyone, and all skin types, could use. So the ReNew line was born!

This line started with just 3 things, a non soap skin cleanser, toner and a serum.  Now I have added a mask/scrub, body oil, body salt scrub and a hair treatment.

So what is in this stuff and what makes it better than what you can get in the big box stores?  Well to start with all the ingredients are 100% natural, and as close to nature as can be. 90 to 99% of the ingredients are organic. Outside of that there is no “fillers”, ingredients that really have no use in the product other than filling it out. All the ingredients are chosen for what they can do to help the health of the skin or hair.

So what are some of the ingredients?  Let’s start with the basic ReNew essential oil blend. This blend is use in all of the skin care products. It is a blend of Frankincense CO2, Rose Geranium, Lavender, Palma Rosa, Rosewood and Carrot root CO2 blended in precise percentages to bring out the best of each without overpowering the benefits of each other.  So what are the benefits of each?

Frankincense: utilized in contemporary cosmetics to refresh skin and has exceptional cytophylactic qualities (encourages the growth of skin cells) and skin tonic. It’s also efficient wounds healing minimizing scaring and inflammation. It has been use for 1000s of years dating back to the Egyptians.  The funny thing is most of the information on frankincense and skin care comes from the use of the powered resin, not the essential oil. This is way we decided to use the CO2 extract. The CO2 extract has all of the active constituents of the resin.

Rose Geranium:  valuable skin care.  It is believed to balance sebum (making it the oil of choice for combination skin) and to keep the skin smooth and supple. We have found that it is very good for dry and oily skin, helping to increase oil production in dry skin and lower it in oily. Truly“balancing” oil.

Lavender: we use two types of true lavender, a wild high alpine and a non cloned French. Anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and, possibly, anti-viral. Lavender functions as an adaptogen, aiding in restoring the body and the spirit to balance. It is also a very strong anti-inflammatory, helping to bring down puffiness in the skin.

Palma Rosa: very effective for treating various skin conditions as it helps balance production of sebum, thus being useful for both extremely dry and oily skin. Strongly anti-infectious oil, as well as being antifungal, useful in treating a range of skin infections.

Rosewood: it is said to stimulate new cell growth, regenerate tissues and help minimize lines and wrinkles. It helps balance both dry and oily skin, and can prove helpful against acne.

Carrot root CO2: extremely high in Beta-carotene and vitamins A and E. Said by many skin care experts to promote the formation of new cells and stimulate the production of sebum in dry, scaly skin and scalp
it is a powerful anti-oxidant, and is recommended by some to help prevent sun damage. Just a few drops of this enriching extract brings soothing to chapped and irritated skin.

Well that is the basic blend of essential oils and extracts used in the ReNew line of skin care. Next post we will be giving you more information about each of the products in the like starting with the ReNew non soap cleanser.

Thank you for reading and good health and healing to you!

  1. Nice post. I learn something totally new and challenging on sites I
stumbleupon everyday. It’s always helpful to read through content from other writers and use a little something from other sites.
